Apologies - I posted something similar in "discussions" by mistake - this is an update to:
"I just upgraded to 2.3.0.1, but found that afterwards, the application crashed when trying to open a workspace (or basically do any connectivity). It indicates "no data provider found" in the status bar, and on trying to load a project / change a workspace, get an exception."
FYI - by deleting the TfsWorkbench.TFSDataProvider2010.dll the app functions perfectly.
Comments: Hi Strepsil, Sorry to here you're having issues with the latest version. But thanks for making the effort to report it. Firstly, it sounds like the installer isn't correctly detecting the version of Visual Studio (Team Explorer) installed. I've had reports of this not working, but cannot repeat the issues locally. The installer detects the version of Visual Studio installed by doing a check on some registry keys. * Visual Studio 2012 - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\InstalledProducts\Team System Tools for Developers\Package * Visual Studio 2012 - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\InstalledProducts\Team Explorer\Package If VS 2012 detected then VS2012 provider installed else if VS 2010 then the VS2010 provider. Could you please let me know the condition of the above registry keys in your system as it may help me to identify the cause of the error. Also, if you ever need to roll back, first use the __Add Remove Programs__ control panel screen and then reinstall the required version. Previous versions can be downloaded from the download page of this site. Crispin Parker
